WANDI PRIMARY SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURES & WATER SUPPLY UPGRADED

WANDI PRIMARY SCHOOL INFRASTRUCTURES & WATER SUPPLY UPGRADED

A significant infrastructure upgrade has been completed at Wandi Primary School in Kerowagi District, Simbu Province, through a partnership between local MP and Education Minister Lucas Dawa and the Simbu Provincial Government.

The project aims to improve learning conditions and teacher accommodation at the school, which serves children from across the district. Many families from the Gena tribe have relocated to the area specifically so their children can benefit from the school’s facilities.

New infrastructure includes construction of four standard teachers’ houses and two three-in-one teachers’ houses. A new residence for the head teacher has also been built.

In addition to housing, the project funded an upgrade to the school’s water supply system, ensuring reliable access to clean water for students and staff. The school’s administration office has been fully rehabilitated.

Minister Dawa stated the investment is crucial for attracting and retaining teachers in the district, directly benefiting students. By providing quality accommodation and essential facilities, the school can offer a more stable and effective learning environment.

The project completion is expected to ease overcrowding in existing staff housing and boost morale for the teaching workforce at Wandi Primary.
