KEROWAGI – Hon. Francis Kikin Siune, Member for Kerowagi and Vice Minister for Public Service, presented a K290,000 grant to Moroma SDA Secondary School on November 7th, 2025.
The funding is split between infrastructure rehabilitation (K200,000) and the construction of a new perimeter fence (K90,000). The grant directly impacts the Moroma community, which has a population of over 4,000.
During the presentation, MP Kikin shifted focus to district-wide economic development, announcing two key initiatives:
The Kerowagi Coffee Cooperative Society: A new cooperative designed to organize local coffee farmers to increase their market power and income.
A Labour Mobility Program: A scheme to facilitate overseas fruit-picking employment, providing income and modern farming skills to locals.
School principal and community leader Mr. Wena Mark welcomed the support, linking it to the MP’s “leave no Kerowagian behind” motto and the community’s own self-reliant history.
MP Kikin concluded by defining his vision: “My leadership and ideas for Kerowagi are to modernize it, not westernize it.”
