The Vice Minister for Public Service, Hon. Francis Kikian Siune, alongside Education Minister’s Representative Mr. Kasi Kakaito, officially opened a new double classroom at Golgia Primary School on Thursday, 23rd October.
The project, funded by the Kerowagi District Development Authority (DDA) at a cost of K150,000, marks a significant milestone for the three-year-old institution.
During the ceremony, Mr. Kakaito announced an additional commitment of K300,000 for the construction of a teacher’s house to further enhance education services in the area.
Mr. Kakaito praised Hon. Siune’s visionary leadership, noting that Kerowagi District has received over K4 million in education support from the Department of Education. He also commended the local Member for elevating Kerowagi to the number one ranking out of 89 districts in Papua New Guinea.
An emotional highlight came when Head Teacher Alua Norbert shed tears of gratitude while acknowledging the continuous support from Hon. Siune and the Education Minister. He officially named the new facility the “Francis Kikian Siune Building” and pledged Ward 19’s full support for the Marape–Rosso Government in the 2027 National Election.
Local chiefs and community leaders echoed their appreciation, describing Hon. Siune as “a true leader, not a politician.”
